Directional Drilling / Trenchless Underground Boring

Next Gen Fibre Tech has extensive industry experience, performing horizontal directional drilling from single pipe to multi-pipe bores, capable of drilling all conditions even of the toughest rock.

Horizontal directional drilling, or HDD, is a steerable boring method for digging non-vertical spaces for pipe, conduit, and cable, using a drilling rig mounted on the surface. This facilitates the ability to drill beneath objects that already exist on the surface, such as roads and buildings, allowing for effective non-destructive digging and pipe installation with low impact on the immediate environment.  This technique can save our clients excessive council restoration fees and charges.

About Trenchless Underground Boring

Trenchless underground boring is a modern method used for installing underground utilities like water pipes, gas lines, or electrical cables without the need for extensive digging or trenching. This method minimizes surface disruption and is particularly useful in urban environments or where traditional excavation would be difficult or costly. There are several types of trenchless boring techniques:

Non-destructive Excavation

Non-destructive excavation techniques are almost universally accepted as the safest way to expose or excavate around underground services, such as electrical and communication cables, water, and gas pipe work.

Our Communications has multiple vac units ranging from 3000ltrs to 10,000ltrs. Using non-destructive excavation results in minimal environmental impact. Our vac units can also trench through and around heritage-listed and/or protected flora areas without damage to major root systems or unnecessary damage to lawns and plant life.
